Water Damage Caused By Neighbors Frozen Pipe, In Neptune, NJ

This water damage was a result of their neighbors pipe breaking due to the cold weather.  The homeowner noticed the water coming in through the wall from the adjoining unit.  SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls received the call and dispatched out.  Once onsite we evaluated the situation and began removing the flooring, drywall and base.  The neighbors unit was unoccupied so we needed to wait and get their permission to go in that unit.  During demo the customer informed us that their daughter has allergies so we took extra precautions on containing and cleaning the dust.  Three days of drying and monitoring we were done and pulled our equipment.  After speaking with the owner of this unit they said that this was the second time this has happened to them.  Unfortunately this happens when heating is not set to the correct temperature in an unoccupied house.
