Don’t Get Left in the Cold with Ice Dam Damage
10/26/2017 (Permalink)
We are coming upon the season for Ice Dam Damage. For those of you that don’t know what an Ice Dam is here is some insight on them. An Ice Dam is caused when a ridge of ice is formed on the edge of the roof and prevents melting snow/water from draining off the roof. Then the water backs up behind the dam and leaks into the home and possible causing damage to the walls, ceiling, insulation or flooring. The best way to prevent Ice Dams from forming is to make sure the roof is cleared of snow after a storm by using a rake or broom. You can also make sure that your gutters are clear and allowing water to pass through them. SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls can deal with any damage an Ice Dam has caused to your home.
