Fire Extinguisher Cleanup In Marlboro, NJ
10/30/2019 (Permalink)
SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls has been trained to industry standards on how to clean up after fires. We also take all precautions for our employee’s protection and use personal protection equipment while cleaning. These include goggles for eye protection, rubber gloves, and respirators or dust mask.
Dry powder (most common) fire extinguisher cleanup requires certain equipment and cleaning products. Hepa vacuums are used to remove the dry powder from non-porous surfaces. We also use SERVPRO approved cleaner to wet clean surfaces. All food prep areas get sanitized. Porous surfaces need to be hepa vacuumed to but may take a little more elbow grease to accomplish. After hepa vacuuming wet cleaning with SERVPRO approved cleaners are needed.
Wet chemical (less common) fire extinguisher cleanup requires the excess liquid to be removed. We also wet clean with SERVPRO approved cleaners in this method too. Sanitizing of food prep areas are required.
All food, cooking grease or other indigestible items that may have been in contact with the fire extinguisher chemicals must be disposed of.
