Soot damage from the fire in the next door unit.

Fire mitigation should be left up to the professionals.  Recently SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls received a call to give an estimate for fire cleanup.  The fire wasn’t in the house we were cleaning but it was in the next-door unit.  The customer explained that they had a contractor and a maid service come in and do the work, but they didn’t do a detailed job.  If SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls had been called in prior to any other work being performed it would have saved the customer time and money.  The contractor didn’t have fire mitigation experience and did some work that should have been done by a professional prior to the work being performed.  There could be issues with this in the future depending on the environment (i.e., humidity causing the smell of smoke to come back).  We here at SERVPRO of Marlboro/Tinton Falls are here to assist you in your fire mitigation needs.  Please contact us at 732-532-7555, or at our website ww.SERVPROmarlborotintonfalls.com.
